Losar Fundraiser
In the auspicious period of Monlam Losar (where the karmic
results of positive actions are exponentially multiplied),
OCBC will be hosting a fundraising sit-a-thon and
recite-a-thon.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to prepare for the arrival
of our incoming resident teacher in June 2025.
Our fundraising goal is $25,000.
Generate vast merit at this special time by silently
reciting sutras or mantras, and/or sitting in meditation
while fundraising for OCBC.
Choose the type of meditation, or the mantras and sutras
that you will recite.
You can use the standard FPMT prayer books at the center,
or you can bring your own copies of mantras and sutras with you.
For those participating online via Zoom, you could choose to
sit with your camera on so you can feel part of the
in-person sitting group.
How it works
Decide on the number of hours you will sit and practice.
Then collect pledges and sponsorships from your contacts,
friends, and family who will sponsor you for every hour you
sit in practice.
You can choose to break up your practice time into hour
chunks or complete it all in one go.
Your donors will pledge $25 or more per hour for every hour you
meditate and/or recite.
If you are unable to actively participate yourself, you
could support OCBC in the following ways:
- Collect donations from among your contacts to support OCBC meet our goal, and donate it on our Losar Fundraiser page.
- Sponsor a participant directly by giving them a donation.
