7:00pm PST (Pacific Standard Time) Saturday, January 23 7:00pm PST (Pacific Standard Time) We are using the Zoom video conferencing system for this event. Please register below to receive the Zoom link. Lama Zopa Rinpoche recommends that all the FPMT centers offer Tsog twice a month, based on the lunar calendar. Offering Tsog is a commitment to anyone who has a Mother Tantra Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment.
“During rituals like pujas we are at our most human. We get preoccupied with the language of pujas, types of offerings, chanting tunes and styles, and steps we can take to make the pujas “perfect”. But consider this: pujas give us the chance to connect with our big minds and big hearts, even as we are confronted with our impatience, our laziness, our competitive spirit, our jealousy.” |
During this time when we are not able to come together for pujas, please consider participating virtually in this ritual feast of heroes and heroines. This practice will be led in English with various community members acting as umze. We can each prepare an offering as simple or as elaborate as we like and offer from our hearts, developing our courage to engage deeply and make this profound practice that connects us with our teachers, to accumulate merit and purify our negative karma, a part of our lives.
As Lama Zopa Rinpoche teaches:
“The very highest meaning of tsog is to join method and wisdom. The real meaning of experiencing tsog is the transcendental wisdom, non-dual great bliss – the wisdom of emptiness, the non-duality of that, and uniting these two. That is the very essence of tsog. It is the offering of that experience, oneself experiencing it, the male and female heroes and heroines, of which the essence is the guru deity, and oneself also experiencing that, as the guru deity. The real meaning of tsog is integrating method and wisdom, the transcendental wisdom, non-dual bliss and voidness.” |
