“The Bodhisattva’s Jewel Garland” Commentary by Geshe Ngawang Dakpa

Saturday, 3-5pm

*December 17
(part two of talks – all are welcome)

The Bodhisattva’s Jewel Garland is a short text composed by the Indian Mahayana spiritual master Dipamkara Shrijñana (972–1054).  Known more popularly as Lord Atisha, this holy teacher travelled to Tibet at a somewhat advanced age and taught there for the remainder of his life, a period of some thirteen years.  The Jewel Garland presents his personal instruction on the key elements that are essential for Mahayana Dharma practitioners to develop and complete their spiritual training.

Geshe Ngawang Dakpa is a renowned scholar of the Gelug tradition, having received the traditional geshe degree from Sera Monastery.  His wisdom, warmth and incredible ability to present the teachings to westerners in a traditional, yet lively way make him a jewel to those who have had the fortune of studying with him.
